I couldn't put it down.I first saw the book at walmart, when I saw it I sat down and started reading it.It took only a couple of minutes for me to be hooked on the whole series.I believe they should make a movie to the whole series.I believe quite a few probalywould agree with me. Everybody should read it.

Cowell has to be one of the funniest authors currently in children's literature. She manages to take picture book charm, heart, and morality and push it up a few more years to juvenile fiction--and she is one funny and talented author that serves up her jaunty, thoroughly British writing with plenty of hilarity.

The young Vikings are learning everything a good Viking pirate should know when a mysterious coffin appears. Of course it is opened, and out pops a man claiming to know the location of a legendary buried treasure. Any reader familiar with the ways of children's literature would probably suspect this isn't good. You could take it either as obvious or as fun suspicion ala "Series of Unfortunate Events" and go with it. I recommend the latter.

Cowell keeps up all the humor of the first book. It's zany, boyish, and even sometimes dark, but gosh darn it if it doesn't work. Once more, there's a great little message. Frankly, it's rare to see a book that is all at once well-written, well-told, funny, and packs a message and heart.

This is a good book for pre-teen girls; however, I do not agree with the age 8+ that's stated on the back. When I purchased the book, I had every intention of giving it to my daughter for her 10th birthday to get her introduced to the changes she'll be going through for the next few years.

It gives good tips on how to manage yourself as you get older and deviate from a parental figure doing those things for you. Talks about eating healthy, pimples, boobs, hair growth, and hormones. Stresses that you should keep clean, stay social, and get exercise. Teaches not to judge others for their changing bodies or be jealous or critical of yourself. Very good lessons for girls to learn before those thoughts go through their heads.

But I don't believe the section regarding starting their cycle is age appropriate even for my 10 year old, so I wanted to put that out there for other parents. The book goes through explaing the what, how, why, and where scenarios as well as PMS and tracking, but it got a little too graphic for me when it lays out tampon insertion instructions in pictures. I believe that's a little too intimidating and scary for younger girls who don't fully understand their bodies.

I came across this book when my little guy was just about 3 months.

I wished I'd found it sooner.

He was REALLY into this book for about 3 weeks, but now I have to cycle it in and out ever few days to retain interest.

The accompanying nursery mini-posters of the pictures in the book would be GREAT to hang above a changing table or some other place where baby spends a lot of time staring while hanging out.

My little man was a contrast addict in the beginning and started smiling at those types of images before he did us.

This would make a wonderful baby shower gift.

This books has lots of good info.

It tells you what things you may be eating that are very bad for your brain and also what things you should eat. It also has some simple exercise to do at home to keep your brain sharp and healthy.

I really like also the available tests that you can do to measure how your brain is already doing, so you can tell your doctor you want those tests. I didn't know they existed, and it even gives you where to get the ones you can do yourself.

Then it has information on specific brain injuries/diseases, and on top of that, it has some recipes too.

Actually there is more, it's fun to read too.

At some point I stumbled upon this delightful series of books. Imagine you and your siblings find yourselves suddenly without parents being threatened with separation with seemingly no one to turn to. Running away from the orphanage and terrified by stories of their grandfather, the Alden children find themselves having to depend on each other to stay together.

In today's world, to have the stories of this undefeatable family of children, there is a ray of hope. Left alone and friendless, these children were determined to stay together and to survive. Finding an abandoned boxcar in the woods anchors their existence and provides with the starting point for their many adventures. Of course their mystery benefactor adds to the believability of the story. One of my children insisted on garnering the entire collection. Those books are highly prized possessions. Start at the beginning of the series and just keep going. You will have hours of enjoyment.

I love Priddy cloth books. We have all of them. The pages are colorful and fun for toddlers to play with. The cloth pages allow small children to touch and turn pages without worry of damaging the books. The rhymes are cute and simple. This book has the advantage of including easily recognizable farm animals so readers can encourage children to learn the sounds the animals make. However, the rhymes in this book do not compare with the rhymes of the other Priddy cloth books. Some have little to do with the animal mentioned; it often feels like the author was stretching to make them fit. Although this is disappointing to me as the one reading the text, my child still enjoys petting the animals and will regularly choose this book.
